A family event to experience Black Hills sites together and to strengthen your Biblical Worldview

The Conference consists of pre-conference field trips offered by ICR (fee required) June 8th, no cost field trips offered by IBA June 8-9th, a family night Friday June 9th, and a full day of Seminars for adults and youth on Saturday June 10th. Plus potential guest speaking appearances at area churches. Dr. Horton, IBA, to speak at Living Outreach Church in Custer, SD at 9:30 AM.

Here is information on the No-cost field trips being offered by Institute for Biblical Authority Thursday June 8 and Friday June 9, 2023. Must Register!!! Space is limited to 40-50. First Come First Serve. All ages welcome but some presentations are an hour long and there is hiking required. For all conference information Go to ICR.org or IBA777.org or call 406-531-8297. These field trips are offered at no cost to compliment the ICR adventures that require some cost to cover trip expenses. There are other activities on these field trips that will have cost, such as admission to sites we will visit. See details below.
Pre-conference Field Trip Thursday June 8th – Mount Rushmore & Sylvan Lake – Needles Highway Drive
Must pre-register at IBA777.org. Meet at First Assembly of God Church, Rapid City, SD, located at 4905 Mt. Rushmore Rd, Hwy 16, Rapid City, SD at 8 AM. Provide your own lunch unless you want to buy lunch in Keystone, SD. Also provide your own water and transportation, carpooling will be possible. This all day field trip will first drive to drive an hour to Mount Rushmore to visit site, museum and gift stores. Then the group will drive two miles to Keystone, SD to Rushmore Expressway Inn, 320 Cemetary Road, for an hour presentation, lunch and visit Keystone. Then after lunch the group will drive an hour to Sylvan Lake for a hike for those who want to hike. Personal cost to enter Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. Be prepared to hike outdoors at Sylvan Lake, slight difficulty. Sylvan Lake Trail is 1 mile round trip. Then the group will drive the Needles Highway to enjoy views and geology. A presentation by IBA will be given titled “Mt Rushmore American Heroes & Their Faith” at Rushmore Expressway Inn. Dress for inclement weather. Discussion during tours with Host Dr. Kevin Horton and Mike Mueller, IBA. First come-first serve, space is limited to 40-50 participants. Group will be dismissed for dinner on their own.
Pre-conference Field Trip Friday June 9th – Crazy Horse Memorial & Custer State Park – Iron Mountain Road Drive
Must pre-register at IBA777.org. Meet at First Assembly of God Church, Rapid City, SD at 8 AM. Provide your own lunch unless you want to buy your own lunch at Crazy Horse Memorial restaurant. Also provide your own water and transportation, carpooling will be possible. Cost to enter Crazy Horse Memorial and Custer State Park. Be prepared to walk at both sites. The group will first drive an hour to visit Crazy Horse Memorial, museum and gift store. A presentation by IBA will be given at Crazy Horse Memorial by Dr. Kevin Horton titled “Biblical Worldview of People Groups/Languages – Tower of Babel”. After lunch group will drive through Custer State Park and visit CSP Visitor Center. The group will then drive the Iron Mountain Road that features Mt. Rushmore views. Dress for inclement weather. Discussion during tours with Host Dr. Kevin Horton and Mike Mueller, IBA. First come-first serve, space is limited to 40-50 participants. After this tour the group is encouraged to attend the family night planned at First Assembly of God Church beginning at 6:30 PM, do not miss it!
Biography and Credentials of Speakers
Kevin Horton BA Biology, DVM, MDiv
Dr. Kevin Horton, Director, Institute for Biblical Authority Dr. Horton holds a B. A. in biology from Dickinson State College (University) in Dickinson, North Dakota. He earned a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and a Masters of divinity from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Horton practiced veterinary medicine on both large and small animals in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana for 20 years. During the last five years of veterinary practice he answered God’s call to church leadership and established two churches in the Valley. He served Crossroads Christian Fellowship of Victor, MT as senior pastor for 20 years. He began as the full-time director of IBA in the spring of 2018.
Mike Mueller BS, MS Biology

Mike Mueller, President, Institute for Biblical Authority
Mike Mueller earned a B.S. and M.S. in Biology Education and Natural Resource/Wildlife Management attending Kansas University and Pittsburg State University. In the early days Mike worked as an educator, naturalist and Park Ranger. Mike has spent the last 33 years working for a conservation/land trust nonprofit organization doing public and private land conservation and management work across the West. Mike has published in scientific and popular periodicals. Mike attends Mission Bible Fellowship Church in Seeley Lake and Crosspoint church in Missoula and favorite scripture is Romans 1:20. Mike is also the current President of the non-profit Institute for Biblical Authority based out of Hamilton, MT which hosts creation science events in the west and provides outreach through IBA777.org. Mike enjoys spending time with his family at the family cabin, hunting, traveling, studying nature, and sports.
